How did you learn about or get involved in fighting slavery?

I took Perspectives on the World Christian Movement and had to write a paper on a caste in India. In that caste over 80% of the girls are abused in some form or fashion and many end up funneled into the slave market. I've tried to get it out of my head and I can't. I'm trying to determine what my part of the solution is.
