I find it amazing how many people are unaware of slavery's existance today. I find it even more shocking how many people just do not care to know. Many people think slavery is something only occuring in distant Africa. It does not touch them so they do not care. But slavery exists even in the United States. Strange to think people's freedom is being ripped away from them in our own backyard. The time has come for people to unite and say "NO MORE."
I agree... ignorance is a BAD thing. and those who are ignorant must be informed about the 27 million enslaved. Some will choose to remain ignorant, simply because that is easier. I have been finding it physically, emotionally and spiritually painful to care so much and to love so much, but i know that is what we were created to do... LOVE... it is what makes us human. Remeber and be encouraged by this--Love NEVER fails. NEVER...
there may be bliss in ignorance, but there is no FREEDOM. Thank you for choosing not to remain ignorant.
Exactly. I've been an advocate for the fight against human slavery since this year began - I have been passing out "anti - human trafficking" bracelets in my school, and it's very interesting how people come up and ask me what they're for, and after I explain, they no longer want the bracelets. I don't understand how people could simply not care. I'm not telling them to go be heroes, but just to open their minds a little.
People do not want the responsiblity to act. It is a sad fact, most people don't want to be reminded of their complacency. They don't want to feel guilty. We have to stay vigilant in our efforts to remind people that as Albert Einstein said, " The world is a dangerous place not because of those who do evil, but because of those you look on and do nothing."
